Abstract: (359 Views)
Throughout history, there has always been a predeterministic view of human actions. Undoubtedly, factors such as: ignorance, self-interest, following ancestors, misconception of religion, Sufism, following sensual desires, avoiding responsibility, etc. have led to the acceptance of this thinking, and all of these have been reflected in historical and literary texts. The present article, using a descriptive-analytical method and by examining the verses in question, has found factors that directly or indirectly affect the human soul in accepting the thought of predestination. These factors are divided into three categories: belief, social, and political, and are criticized and examined. What was obtained from this research is, in short, that: factors such as social and political history, religious ignorance, superstition, self-interest of rulers, Sufism, etc. have had a significant impact on the tendency of humans towards predestination and determinism. Among these, what emerges from the verses of the Holy Quran, authentic narrations, Islamic theological beliefs, and authentic mysticism is that man is “forced” within the framework of creation and divine tradition, and within this framework, his worldly happiness and his afterlife are determined by his own hands. This point has also been confirmed in Islamic mysticism, where Rumi explains the general predestination and the predestination believed in by the elite.
